This Saturday (26), the Zoonoses Control Center (CCZ) of São José dos Campos promoted another edition of the dog and cat adoption fair, reaffirming the City Hall's commitment to the animal cause and the promotion of responsible guard.
75 animals were made available for adoption, 70 dogs and 5 cats, all ready to receive a new home. During the event, the CCZ received 19 visitors interested in adopting and recorded 3 adoption claims, which will go to the next stage of home visit and technical evaluation.
Since 2021, more than 450 pets have been adopted through the CCZ fairs, demonstrating the growing adhesion of the population to conscious adoption practices.
The adoption fair always takes place on the last Saturday of each month, at CCZ (581 George Williams Street, Industrial Park), from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm. To adopt, it is necessary to be over 18 years and present an official photo document and CPF. The delivery of the animal is made only after home visit and approval of the technical team, ensuring the welfare of animals and the safety of adopters.
Free procedures for dogs and cats
During the fair, tutors were able to take their dogs and cats to receive anti -rabies vaccination and microchipage, services offered free of charge by the city. To ensure the safety of all, the conduct of animals must be done with a collar and guide for dogs, and in suitable transport boxes for cats.
In this edition, 21 doses of the anti -rabies vaccine were applied in dogs and 7 in cats, as well as the 8 dog microchipping, strengthening the actions of protection and animal identification in the municipality.
These services are also available during the week at the Zoonosis Control Center (CCZ), Monday to Friday, from 9am to 4pm.

Anti -rabies vaccination is suitable for dogs and cats from 4 months of age, with annual reinforcement. In case of contact with bats, the animal should also be vaccinated, regardless of the previous history.
If the tutor does not have the PET vaccination card, a new one is provided at the time of applying the vaccine. If you already have, just take it to update.
Microchipage
Microchipping is a method of identification to combat loss and abandonment | Photo: Disclosure
Microchip is an electronic device that stores a single identification code, associating the pet with your tutor. This permanent safety measure is fundamental to decrease cases of animal loss and abandonment.
