14-year-old carioca under-17 world weight lifting

Carioca Isanelly Cristina proved that she is one of the most promising names of Brazilian weightlifting by winning, only 14 years old, the title at the U17 World Lifting World Cup, an opportunity in which she established a new world record in the throw.

The feat was reached last Wednesday (30) in Lima (Peru), when the Brazilian raised 77 pounds in the throw, establishing the record, and got 57 pounds in the draw, totaling the total of 134 kilos.

The 77 pounds in the throw are not new to Isanelly, a brand she has already reached on October 18 last year at the U-17 Brazilian Championship, at the Mangueira Sports Reference Center in Rio de Janeiro. However, the competition was not approved by the International Federation of Peso Survey for World Records. This time, there was no way. The world knew Isanelly definitely.

“I am very happy, because I did not imagine it would be such a good experience. I loved the structure of the place, it is all very beautiful. I have to thank God, first, because I am here. And just celebrating, I am very happy with this world record. I had in thoughts, only. But waiting, did not expect,” said the young athlete.
