Candidates who are entitled not to pay the 2025 National High School (Enem) registration fee (Enem) must apply for exemption by 11:59 pm (GMT) this Friday (2). The period was extended by the Ministry of Education (MEC) on April 25.
Orders must be sent through the Internet, on the Exam Participant page, with the login of the Federal Government's Single Digital Services, Gov.br.

The same deadline must be respected by last year's ENEM participants who had the free registration fee, the test days were missing, and now they want to do the Enem for free. The National Institute for Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep), responsible for the application of the tests, explains that the justification of absence should also be made on the participant's page.
Who is entitled
The Ministry of Education (MEC) provides for exemption from the registration fee for people:
- enrolled in the 3rd grade of high school (this year 2025), in a public school;
- who attended all high school in a public school or as an integral scholarship in a private education unit;
- in a situation of socioeconomic vulnerability and members of families registered in the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (Cadúnico);
- Participants of the Federal Program Foot.
Already the conditions accepted as justified for absence on the days of ENEM of 2024 include, among others:
- robbery/theft;
- traffic accident;
- death in the family;
- motherhood and paternity;
- Home change for family monitoring;
- deprivation of liberty;
- Emergency/Hospitalization/Medical or Dental Rest;
- and work or school activity.
The INEP notice, which specifies the rules for justification, clarifies that The above situations must have occurred on the days of regular examination of the exam (November 3 or 10, 2024) or on the test reapplication dates (on December 10 and 11, 2024).

Timeline
The result of the justification for absence in ENEM 2024 and request for exemption from the registration fee for ENEM 2025 will be published on May 12.
Even with the exemption confirmed by the Inep team, the student will need to register, in the period to be released in the future announcement of Enem 2025.
The applicant who has the request denied to justify the absence in ENEM 2024 or for request for exemption from the registration fee for ENEM 2025 may appeal between 12 and 16 May. The final result of the contestation will be known on May 22.
Participants who do not request the appeal or have the application for exemption from the registration fee for ENEM 2025 disapproved shall make the registration according to the future Notice of Enem 2025. Subsequently, in period to be defined, the registration cost must be paid for the person to have the confirmed adhesion.
The amount of the registration fee has not yet been disclosed, but in the 2024 edition, it was R $ 85. Of the 4.3 million registrants confirmed in last year ENEM, 63.6% were exempt from payment of the registration fee.
