Lady Gaga takes 2.1 million people to Copacabana in a historic show – Rio de Janeiro City Hall

Saturday night (03/05) entered the history of Rio de Janeiro. The free show of singer Lady Gaga on Copacabana Beach brought up 2.1 million people, exceeding all expectations, consolidating himself as one of the biggest events ever held on the carioca waterfront and the largest in the career of the American singer. The numbers are from the City Hall of Rio, Military Police and production of the show.

With a high visual impact, the show made the crowd vibrate with the singer's big hits. At first, with the Brazilian flag, Lady Gaga stopped the show and read a letter, was thrilled and thanked the Brazilians for waiting for more than 10 years her show.

Since the beginning of the week, the city had felt the movement of tourists who came to watch one of the most renowned artists in the world. The initial estimate of 240,000 visitors was widely exceeded: more than 500,000 tourists landed in the city between May 1st and 3rd, according to data consolidated by the Novo Rio bus station and Tom Jobim International Airport (Galeão).

In addition to being memorable, the show also brought a significant positive impact on the city. According to a study by the Municipal Secretariat of Economic Development (SMDE) in partnership with Riotur, the presentation will inject more than R $ 600 million in the carioca economy, moving sectors such as hotels, gastronomy, transportation and commerce.

The city of Rio mobilized all its organs to ensure the safety, logistics and comfort of the public, in an integrated operation that contributed to the success of the event. Since the early hours of the afternoon, the sand -mounted stage has received the audience with DJ presentations, including singer Pabllo Vittar.

Riotur coordinated and accompanied the implementation of the structures, and all the operational execution of the public agencies that supported the show. To put into practice the operational planning of the event, the Rio de Janeiro City Hall Operations and Resilience Center (COR-Rio) worked with maximum capacity. In all 500 technicians took turns throughout the day in the color room, located in the New City; and at the Advanced Center mounted on Avenida Atlântica, height of Rua República do Peru, near the stage.

In order to ensure the safety and control of the operation, 240 cameras were installed in Copacabana and 106 cameras along Avenida Atlantica, in addition to the 40 cameras provided by the organization of the event. The operation also had four drones – two of them in partnership with Intelbras, telecommunications company.

The coverage of the Rio de Janeiro City Hall on social networks generated more than 60 content on Tiktok, Twitter and Instagram, which were seen more 1,200,000 times and received about 50,000 public interactions. In all, conversations about the show on networks had an impact of over 100 million views and 32 million interactions, inside and outside Brazil.

Medical posts make 795 calls

The three medical posts of the Municipal Health Secretariat, worked from 5 pm on 05/03 until 4am the next day. Seventy -three patients needed more complex care, being transferred to Souza Aguiar and Miguel Couto municipal hospitals and to the Leblon and Governor Island Regional Emergency Centers. The transfers were coordinated by the Municipal Regulation Center. A team of 110 professionals, including doctors, nurses and 30 ambulances that were available at the posts.

Comlurb removes 392 tons of waste in the largest cleaning operation on the streets of Copacabana

Comlurb removed 392 tons of waste after the special cleaning operation for the show. The company performed the largest hydraulic cleaning operation in history, with the mobilization of 26 motorcycles and 12 water trucks, which washed the Atlantic Avenue and streets of access to the event, including the outer areas of Cardeal Arcoverde and Cantagalo stations, before and after the event, with water of reuse, soap and eucalyptus essence. The cleaning was completed at 5 am on Sunday (04/05) and the teams will transfer throughout the day.

In the sand and boardwalk of Avenida Atlântica, Comlurb provided two thousand containers of 240 liters and 350 containers of large capacity, 1,200 liters for waste disposal. To ensure cleaning of the waterfront before and after the event, the company mobilized 1,630 street sweepers, as well as three assigned professionals for each of the three health posts.

The operation, similar to New Year's Eve, began at 0h Saturday, 03/05, and ended at 5am on Sunday, 04, with support of vehicles and equipment, with six removal tractors, six sand sieving tractors, two mini beach cleaning machines, seven loaders, 21 tubing trucks, 12 canopy trucks, 12 scanners and one electric car 38 hydraulic cleaning.

The change in the regular collection of garbage in Copacabana on Saturday night, 05/03, which will be performed, exceptionally, on Sunday (04,/05) from 19h, for both residential buildings and general commerce, guaranteed streets without garbage and without trucks interfering in traffic already blocks. To reinforce the guidance, informative materials were distributed in establishments and buildings in the region.

Public Order Secretariat seizes more than five thousand irregular items

The Secretariat of Public Order and the Municipal Guard worked at the Lady Gaga concert focused on planning actions, street vendors – especially to curb the entry of glass bottles – irregular occupation of public area, as well as traffic control and aid in closing the streets. During the event were seized more than 5,000 items of street vendors such as beverages in glass bottles, supermarket strollers, barbecues, gas cylinders, knives, 200 kilos of spoiled meat, plus five vests of street vendors that were not being used by those identified in the credential.

In the afternoon, seop agents demobilized an irregular culfin that was mounted on the sand of Copacabana beach, in front of Copacabana Palace. In irregular parking inspections, 75 removals were carried out and 560 infractions applied.

GM-Rio teams also recorded two arrests during the event. In the morning, the guards of the Special Beach Group (GEP) seized a plastic bag with seven knives that was buried in the beach sand.

Seop and Rio+Seguro teams arrested six people for theft, contempt and aggression to agents.

Cet-Rio sets up special transit scheme to ensure public fluidity for Copacabana

CET-Rio, implemented a traffic scheme to meet the large movement of people who went to the event, the traffic scheme began on Friday, 05/02, with parking prohibitions in the region's roads. The operation acted with 205 people, including operators and traffic supporters, 49 motorcycles and 26 vehicles
Operational, who worked to maintain traffic fluidity, curb irregular parking, order crossings, guide pedestrians and perform the necessary blockages in the region. 700 parking banal stays were installed in the Copacabana neighborhood to alert drivers on the 3,000 suppressed vacancies in the region. The population accepted the city's recommendations opting for public transportation for the arrival and departure of the event. At 4am, according to the forecast, all Copacabana traffic was released.

Social Assistance performs special action with 127 care and identification of 118 children

The Municipal Secretariat of Social Assistance carried out a special action for prevention and protection for children and adolescents.

In all, there were 118 children identified and 127 calls made by SMAS teams. 100 educational gifts were distributed with awareness messages, and three drives to the Guardianship Council were made.

The operation had the performance of 27 professionals mobilized to ensure the safety of minors during the event.
