Brazil wins 10 medals in the Indianapolis stage of World Series

Having the Paralympic Swimming Champion Gabriel Araújo as a great prominence, Brazil ended participation in the Indianapolis (United States) stage of the World Series (an international circuit organized by the International Paralympic Committee) with a total of ten podiums (four gold, five silver and one bronze).

Of these ten medals won by Brazil, six of them were obtained by Gabriel Araújo, the last of them last Saturday night (26) in the 50 meters free style classes S1-S13. The winner of the dispute was the Italian Simone Barlaam, while Australian Callum Simpson completed the podium.

Earlier, Gabrielzinho, who is from the S2 class (Physical-Motor Commitment), secured gold in the 100 meters free, 150 meters medley, 50 meters back and 50 meters butterfly, and was silver in the 200 meters free.

The other medals in Brazil were won by Mato Grosso-Grosso Milaini Araújo and the gaucho Larissa Rodrigues (respectively a silver and a bronze in the 50 meters of class S3), Talisson Glock (a silver 400 meters from class S6) and Matheus Brambilla (a silver in class S7).

By 2025 the Brazilian Paralympic Swimming Team had already participated in two stages of the World Series. In Lignano Sabbiado (Italy), the country ended the participation with four gold and four silver, being in second place overall of the medal board. In Barcelona (Spain), Brazil closed its campaign with 11 podiums, six gold, three silver and two bronzes.
