Luana Silva is runner-up of the Bells Beach stage

The young Brazilian surfer Luana Silva made history at dawn on Sunday (27) in securing the runner-up of the Bells Beach stage, Australia, from the world surfing circuit. This was the first time that the 20 -year -old woman has a decision of the competition.

Luana, who was born in Hawaii, but is the daughter of Brazilian parents, lost in the decision to Australian Isabella Nichols for 16.26 points to 12.67. The Brazilian made a great year of 2024 at the WSL Junior World Cup (World Surfing League), with the title of the competition.

“I am very proud of my performance. I am happy to have overcome some mental blocks, mental obstacles that I could not overcome at first. It is a great achievement for me,” said Luana Silva.

If the title of the female dispute was the Australian Isabella Nichols, in men the achievement was with Jack Robinson, also from Australia.
