Corinthians announced the hiring of coach Dorival Júnior on the afternoon of Monday (28), one day after the men's team suffered (4-0) of Flamengo away from home, for the Brazilian Championship. This will be the first pass of the 63 -year -old coach by the São Paulo club, current 12th in the table. The bond with Timon runs until the end of 2026. Dorival's debut will be next Wednesday (30), away from home, against Novorizontino, in the first phase of the Brazilian Cup. The match will start at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), at the Doctor Jorge Ismael de Biasi Stadium, in Novo Horizonte (SP).
“It's an important moment of my career. I hope to leave a legacy within a job that was already happening. The previous coaching staff commanded by Ramón has done a beautiful job and leaves us in a special moment. I hope to continue all this and achieve the best results for this great team,” said the former Brazilian team coach, fired a month ago, after running the hopscotch in 16 matches (seven wins, seven draws and three losses).

With the ongoing negotiations with the club board since last Friday (25), Dorival was in Maracanã on Sunday (17) and closely followed the setback of Timão. Among other problems, the team has been conceded from systematic defense failures: it has taken 33 goals in 29 games. In addition to the Brasileirão and the Brazilian Cup, the club also disputes the South American Cup. During the signing of the contract, Dorival praised the Corinthian fans.
“It's a faithful crowd who doesn't give up at any time. This is a trademark. I hope to experience all this. God willing, I will give my best to all the fans. At the end of the season, we can fight for all the competitions we are playing,” Dorival has already trained other great teams like Flamengo, International, Cruzeiro, Vasco and Atlético-MG.

Dorival will replace coach Ramón Díaz, off the club on the 17th. The new Corinthians coach led the first training with the cast this afternoon. Dorival starts his walk at the club along with the assistants Lucas Silvestre and Pedro Sotero; and the physical trainer Celso de Rezende.
