The 2025 Study and Reading Week will begin this Monday (5) at the São Paulo Municipal Theater. The program runs until the 9th and will be developed in various parts of the city, with storytelling, exhibitions, soiree, wheel of readings and other literary proposals.
The highlights of the program are the writer Sérgio Vaz with the recital Poetry against violence and Tati Santos de Oliveira with The girl made of clouds.
In this edition, the central theme will be All voices, all stories. According to Councilman Eliseu Gabriel, the proposal is that the initiative involves all audiences.

“The idea is precisely to spread the law of reading week so that it can be increasingly applied to a larger number of people. Integrating the community in this action is essential to expand the habit of reading and studying and thus forming citizens more prepared to face challenges that the future reserves us,” he said.
Importance of reading
Sérgio Vaz's recital runs through public schools and values the role of these institutions in citizen formation, reinforcing the importance of bringing youth and adults closer to the literary universe. “We have to practice reading and transform it into a popular sport. Books are very expensive and libraries are unimprorative. It is necessary to transform them into attractive spaces,” he notes.
The writer Tati Oliveira debuts her first authorial book – The girl made of clouds. The narrative delicately addresses the vitiligo, a condition that causes the loss of skin pigmentation.
The importance of a theme is highlighted, which, in the author's view, is little explored. “It is very important that schools welcome these children, with so many diversities we have in the world. This book was made with mother's love to protect the daughter from prejudice. I think it is very important to be on this day to make people aware of this topic,” he concludes.
